HIPEC is a type of surgery for peritoneal mesothelioma patients.
First, surgeons remove the visible cancer from inside your abdomen. Next, they fill your abdomen with heated chemo.
Mesothelioma in the abdomen is aggressive. It doesn't grow like one tumor you can cut out. It coats the lining of the abdomen and spreads fast.
